The Health Authorities includes the Public Health, Home and Community Care, and other community-based health programs. The staff team is friendly, welcoming, and committed to improving the health and wellness of community members.

The communities of Island are located approximately 600 kilometers northeast of Winnipeg. The landscape is part of the Canadian Shield and is home to diverse plant and wild life and includes boreal and coniferous forests, rugged lake shores, and rolling hills.
BN preferred or RN with suitable experience
Several years of nursing experience
Preferred experience in Public Health Nursing
Understanding and respect for aboriginal traditional ways
Ability to work as part of a team
Current immunization certificate or RN’s will be provided with training upon hiring
Understanding of population health needs
Ability to organize and implement home visits and clinics
Caring, supportive, and accepting approach
Excellent physical and mental health
Current registration with CRNM in good standing
Valid driver’s license
Ability to speak Oji-Cree would be an asset
